The return home is a theme that's not an uncommon one for artists. With lives that are often tumultuous, with relentless tour and press schedules, it's not hard to see why. With his third album, Adventures In Your Own Backyard, Patrick Watson embraces this idea, and takes it quite literally. Following up his Polaris-winning award album Close To Paradise, Watson, recording at his home, has maintained the grandiose, flourishing arrangements that are his hallmark, all the while showing focus and increased patience. In making the album, Watson declared the goal was to “make the kind of music we would want to listen to at home.” Adventures In Your Own Backyard is out the week of 4/16 in Canada, continental Europe & Japan on Secret City, and the week of 4/30 in the US and the rest of the world, via Domino.
