LISTEN: Dan Deacon’s “True Thrush” Suggests That One Man’s Thrush Is Another Man’s Threasure

Dan Deacon has just released “True Thrush,” the second single from the upcoming full-length album America, and it sounds like that boy has lost his damn mind (again? always?)! But that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

“True Thrush” erupts into a sonic assault of kaleidoscopic synths and laser beams while Deacon sings triumphantly among a well-trained chorus of kittens. The track is rhythmic enough to make ankles buckle on the dance floor, and yet, it’s anthemic enough to act as the soundtrack for any preschool reenactment of Braveheart.

Give the song a listen below and be sure to click here to find out more about Dan Deacon’s upcoming tour or his new album, America, which out on August 28 via Domino.
