LISTEN: Austra Announces New Single “Home” Off Upcoming Sophomore LP “Olympia” + Tour Dates

It’s been a long two years since Austra’s debut album enchanted our ears. After eagerly awaiting a follow-up to 2010’s Feel It Break, we’re happy to share that the Toronto-based band has announced their second album, Olympia, due out June 18th on Domino. Lucky for us, the six-piece also released “Home,” the first single off Olympia, and upcoming tour dates, including showcases at SXSW.
Despite being a heartfelt, piano-driven song that expresses the anxieties of waiting up all night for a lover to come home, “Home” is buoyant and danceable, marking an evolution in the band’s sound and style. Frontwoman Katie Stemanis’ arrestingly distinct vocals take center stage, with a groovy yet minimal bass line bouncing in the background. It's another song from Austra that brilliantly marries classical and electronic, and needless to say, we're excited to hear the rest of Olympia.
Stream "Home" below, and make sure to check out Austra’s tour dates as well as the track list for Olympia!
