Let's talk about musicians for a minute. We absolutely love them. Whether it's for a killer guitar riff, a gorgeous melody, or their insane antics on the internet (or in real life for that matter) we, as music lovers, can't get enough of them. Sometimes, these sonically inspired individuals that we look up to have a few more tricks up their sleeves than they care to let on in every other cookie cutter interview. That's where we come in!
With that in mind, we're proud to present another installment of FILTER How To, an instructive video series where your favorite artists teach you how to do something that is near and dear to their hearts.
It's Friday, it's the end of the week, and we're already looking forward to happy hour. We invited some of the guys from Midlake (who own a bar in their hometown of Denton, Texas, no less) to show us how to prep and pour a proper whiskey old-fashioned.
It can be rough when your lead singer and primary songwriter quits the band, but Midlake have turned out just fine. That doesn't mean they didn't need a little something to take the edge off. Along with the making of their new record Antiphon, Midlake have honed their knowledge of the finer things, and that includes some classic cocktails.
Watch as Eric, Joey and McKenzie give a step-by-step tutorial on how to make one of their favorite drinks, a whiskey old-fashioned.
Be sure to check out our recent interview with Midlake, and don't miss their new LP Antiphon, out now on ATO Records.
