EXCLUSIVE PLAYLIST: FILTER Magazine’s ChristmaHolidexplosion 2013

By Staff on December 23, 2013

It's that time of year for wintery cheer (sorry, not sorry) and we here at FILTER are here to help you with our very own playlist! Press play above to start the sentimental feelings...

The Bangles - "Hazy Shade of Winter"

Why: Why? Chicago Represent! -- Monique Gilbert

Mizar -- "My Angel in the Ice World"

Why: Not necessarily a holiday song but its icy splendor will keep you warm on those cold, cold nights. Mizar is a genius forever. -- Pat McGuire

This singing redneck hat doing "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer" in a (presumably) Walmart in (presumably) Tennessee. -- Pat McGuire

Mariah Carey – "All I Want For Christmas Is You"

Why: If this isn’t a holiday classic, I don’t know what is. -- Natalie Anderson

Spice Girls -- "Wrapping Paper"

Why: What do you mean, why? -- Angelica Corona

Wham! -- "Last Christmas"

Why: More so than the actual song, I am borderline obsessed with this music video. The snow! The 1984 Nissan Pathfinder! The outfits! The cabin! The drama! Dinner parties! George Michael (his hair, that fuzzy hood!)! That brunette (yeah, girl, you done screwed up)! Their clueless significant others! Wistful stares into the great unknown of What Could Have Been! In short, this is basically the Christmas I've always dreamed of.—Breanna Murphy

"Christmas Is All Around" -- Billy Mack

Why: No one is ruining Love Actually for me. No one.—Breanna Murphy

Darlene Love -- "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)"

Why: When this song starts it just gives me chills all over. While it is sad, it just gives us one of the best Christmas songs to belt in the shower. -- Bailey Pennick
