LISTEN: Alex Bleeker & The Freaks Share Second Single “Leave On The Light” Off Sophomore LP

In mid-February, we shared “Don’t Look Down,” the rather upbeat single about a break-up, from Alex Bleeker & The Freaks’ sophomore LP How Far Away, due out on May 29 via Woodsist. Today, the Real Estate bassist and his side band released “Leave On The Light,” which shows off a different side of the group, all while staying true to the album’s overall theme of the dissolution of a relationship.

“Leave On The Light” is a bittersweet number. A pedal steel and woozy guitars add bursts of melancholy to Bleeker’s swoons and sighs. He croons, “I guess I didn’t treat you right/Don’t wait for me, just walk on by,” as the song shuffles slowly. "Leave On The Light" drips with nostalgia, and at times, Bleeker’s remorse is almost palpable. Stream the ditty for yourself below.
