Getting To Know: Delorean

OUR BAND'S SPIRIT ANIMAL

A dog?

OUR LEAST FAVORITE THING IN THE UNIVERSE

Problems at airports.

ON THE ROAD

We don't have many crazy trip stories, honestly, we're pretty chill. But stuff definitely happens while you're on tour.

OUR WORST SHOW EVER

Probably happened somewhere in Europe after a snowstorm that kept everybody from going to the club. I think we've forgotten the bad ones.

OUR BEST SHOW EVER

In the US, it happened at the Unitarian Church in Philadelphia, I don't think we'll forget it.

WE'LL KNOW WE'VE MADE IT

When the song speaks for itself.

THE IDEAL SETTING FOR SOMEONE TO LISTEN TO OUR MUSIC

Just sitting down, listening to it and paying attention, especially for a first listen. It's a rich album in terms of having different registers and moods and there's a nice production effort.

OUR DREAM COLLABORATION

Daft Punk? I don't know, maybe Daft Punk.

3 albums that inspired Delorean to make music

Daft Punk

Homework

It just got us into a new field. I don't remember when we first listened to this, but most of the things we liked about dance music were there. It's a big album that synthesizes a lot of the things that happened in dance music since Chicago house and it kind of set a standard for the future.

New Order

Low Life

We could put any of their records here. It might've been better to put the greatest hits record, but Low Life's layout is pretty cool. New Order's a band that we somehow reflect on. We used to listen to these songs all the time. There are guitars, synths and beats, and it's pop. They're great songs.

Nathan Fake

"The Sky Was Pink" (James Holden remix)

This is not an album, and we got to know it when we were already a band, but it definitely moved us to learn how to produce songs on a computer. When this came out, we were just blown away. James Holden is a big reference for us, he's a craftsman of sound.
